Leave No One Behind, but Leave COVID19 behind.

Walang Iwanan… Walang Hawaan!

Dear GK USA family,

You have stood by our side as we helped build hundreds of communities for the homeless in the Philippines. You have supported our initiatives across community development, nutrition and education through all these years. And we are thankful.

Today, an invisible enemy has individuals, families and entire nations, rich or poor, in its grip. We find ourselves tossed in the tempest - in the same boat.  But, we did not let that obscure our humanity. On the contrary, we revealed it. For why else would GK USA get calls from individuals, asking what Gawad Kalinga is doing to ensure that the most vulnerable are not forgotten, even as they try to take care of themselves, amid these hard times.

If you are in a position to give, please help GK provide financial support to the communities hit hardest by the Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed by the Philippine government across the entire country due to COVID-19.

Your donation of $7.50 will provide a weekly stipend for one family unable to earn weekly wages due to the government-imposed COVID-19 quarantine in the Philippines.

The weekly stipend will be used to augment government-provided support to 12,000 families hardest-hit by the nationwide community quarantine.

How will this be distributed?  Communities in urban areas, where the quarantine is most strict, will receive digital cash transfers directly from Gawad Kalinga, through the G-Cash and PayMaya platforms. These families can spend the cash credits for necessities at local stores designated as essential businesses.

In areas where distribution of food packs is possible, GK will digitally purchase goods from local merchants near the communities. Families could then claim weekly relief packs containing 3 kilos of rice, 6 canned goods, coffee, and dried noodles, from these retailers using the SMS vouchers issued by GK.

For rural areas with little or no access to retailers, GK will set up food banks where families can redeem their relief packages weekly.

Our target is to help GK Philippines raise $1,000,000 to support the $7.50-a-week stipend for 12,000 families over a minimum period of 3 months.  We need your help because they need our help. Your gift, no matter the amount, will make a difference.

Due to lockdown measures in the United States, it is best that all donations be made through our website, www.gk-usa.org.

Otherwise,  you could mail your checks to:

In this time of darkness, let the light of kindness shine.
